Exciting Plans For A Children’s Amusement Park In Lawton Unfold
It's looking like an amusement park is in Lawton's future! The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber Of Commerce is moving forward with plans to bring an amusement park for children to downtown Lawton.
The Lawton Chamber Foundation, formerly the Holiday In The Park Board, is spearheading an project to establish a children's amusement park in downtown Lawton.
The project is in early phases, and a permanent location has yet to be established, but the amusement park is expected to be built in downtown Lawton and feature bumper cars, carousel, small roller coaster and other activities.
Lawton's future amusement park is inspired by the Bartlesville Kiddie Park.
Lawton Fort Sill Chamber President Matt Tranquil told The Lawton Constitution that the planned amusement park for Lawton is inspired by the Bartlesville Kiddie Park. Tranquil previously served on the board for the Bartlesville Kiddie Park, and witnessed the positive impact an amusement park can have on a community and its citizens.
"It showed me how a simple, well-run amusement park can bring families together and become something a community is proud of," Tranquil told The Lawton Constitution.
