Lawton’s Fall Calendar Packed With County Fair, Festivals, And Seasonal Celebrations

Fall is always jam-packed with annual events in Lawton. From the Comanche County Fair to the International Festival, Lawton residents always have an event to look forward to as the weather cools down.

Fall Events In Lawton, Oklahoma

The first day of fall isn't technically till Sept. 22, but Lawton's top fall events start in early September and continue through November.

Comanche County Fair - Sept. 8-12

Fall officially kicks off in Lawton with the annual Comanche County Fair from Sept. 8-12 at the Comanche County Fairgrounds in Lawton. Residents from all around Comanche County compete in local agriculture competitions, ranging from livestock to homemade goods. The fair also features agriculture exhibits and several opportunities for everyone in Comanche County to celebrate local agriculture.

SOB Brewing Oktoberfest - Sept. 11-12

Lawton is known for hosting some great Oktoberfest celebrations. The first one to kick off the Oktoberfest season will be SOB Brewing's Oktoberfest on Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12. This will be the brewery's second year to host Oktoberfest celebrations after first opening in 2025.

Fall Open Streets - Saturday, Sept. 19

As it gets cooler, Lawton residents will start spending more time outside, and the fall Open Streets is the perfect event to get the whole family outside. On Saturday, Sept. 19, Lawton's annual fall Open Streets will take place on C Avenue, between 2nd Street and 5th Street in downtown Lawton.

During Open Streets, everyone in the whole family has the opportunity to participate in free games and activities that promote health and fitness. More information about Open Streets is available on the event's official Facebook page.

International Festival - Sept. 25-27

The annual International Festival is Lawton's biggest festival during the fall season. The festival celebrates Lawton's diversity with three days of cultural performances, food, vendors and more.

Fort Sill Family MWR Oktoberfest - Friday, Oct. 2

The Fort Sill Family MWR will host its annual Oktoberfest on Friday, Oct. 2, at the Patriot Club on Fort Sill. The celebration will feature a traditional keg tapping, live music from Polkameister, food trucks, beer steins and Oktoberfest activities. The event on Fort Sill is free and open to the public, however, a visitor pass is required for anyone without a valid DoD ID.

Comanche County Fairgrounds Oktoberfest - Oct. 9-10

The Comanche County Fairgrounds will host its 53rd annual Oktoberfest on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Great Plains Coliseum. The celebration live German music, imported beer and German dishes, like schnitzel and bratwurst. The Comanche County Fairgrounds also hosts a best dressed costume contest during Oktoberfest.

Lawton Citywide Trick-Or-Treating - Saturday, Oct. 31

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. At time of publishing, the City of Lawton has not announced the official trick-or-treating hours, but in past years, if Halloween falls on a weekend, trick-or-treating hours in the City of Lawton are expected to be from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31.

The City of Lawton will list official trick-or-treating hours on its website closer to date.

Arts for All Gala - Friday, Nov. 6

The annual Arts for All Gala will take place Friday, Nov. 6, at the Great Plains Coliseum. This ticketed event is annual fundraiser for Arts for All, which is a nonprofit that raises funds for its member arts organizations in Lawton and southwest Oklahoma. This year's gala theme is Longhorn Legacy, celebrating 30 years of the annual gala.

Lawton Craft Harvest Craft Show - Nov. 20-22

The Lawton Craft, Art, Hobby Association will host its annual Craft Harvest Craft Show "The Big One" from Nov. 20-22 in the Expo Building at the Comanche County Fairgrounds. The annual craft show features 200 vendors, pictures with Santa, and more. This year will be Lawton's 53rd annual Craft Harvest Craft Show.

Holiday In The Park - Saturday, Nov. 21

The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber Foundation has set the opening day for Lawton's Holiday In The Park on Saturday, Nov. 21. In years past, Lawton's annual Holiday In The Park Parade and Frost Yo Fanny Fun Run typically take place on the day Holiday In The Park first opens. However, at time of publishing, the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber Foundation hot not announced information regarding the annual fun run and parade.
