Lawton Food Bank Celebrates 35 Years

The Lawton Food Bank is celebrating it's 35th Birthday this weekend. Stop by and be a part of the celebration this Saturday, August 1st (08-01-20) from 9:00am until 11:00am CST.  They're located at 1819 S.W. Sheridan Road in Lawton, OK. If possible please make a donation and help your neighbors in need.

During the birthday celebration they're asking you to consider making a $35.00 donation in honor of their 35th birthday. A $35.00 donation would provide 140 meals. They're goal is 100 donors which would provide 14,000 meals to families in need. The first 100 donors to stop by will receive a cupcake and will be entered into a drawing for a $100.00 gift card to the Silver Spoon or Atlanta Bread Company. It's gonna be a good time for a great cause!

On average the Lawton Food Bank assists round 1,300 families per month. Your donation would go a long way in helping others in need right here in the Lawton, Fort Sill community. The past several month's have been extra challenging with the COVID-19 pandemic and the unfortunate job losses that have come with it. Times are tough, it's even tougher right now. The food bank has seen a lot of new families and individuals lately who could use our help.

You can always drop off canned food and non-perishable food items along with personal hygiene products, baby supplies like diapers, formula, baby food and right now there's a real need for protein rich foods like canned meats so when you're shopping keep that in mind. Of course monetary donations are always welcomed and 100% of what you give stays local. However you can or choose to give would be greatly appreciated.

Join KLAW 101 this Saturday from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Lawton Food Bank for their 35th Birthday celebration. We'll have stickers, free stuff, prizes and tickets to the Extreme Monster Truck Summer Nationals we'll be giving away. Maybe even some Lawton Rangers Rodeo tickets. We'll see you there!
