It's almost September, which means Lawton residents can start looking forward to the annual International Festival! This year will be the 46th annual International Festival, and will focus on celebrating Lawton's diversity through food, entertainment and more.

Lawton's International Festival is a free, three-day event at Lawton's Elmer Thomas Park. This year's International Festival will take place Friday, September 26, Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28. The festival will feature three days filled with cultural food and entertainment, plus a children's area, vendors and artist demonstrations.

The entire schedule for the 46th annual International Festival is not available yet, but the festival's webpage does already have some activities and headliners already announced.

5-9 p.m. Friday, September 26

  • Opening Ceremony - 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday Headliner - Hydramatics - 7:30 p.m. North Stage

11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 27

  • Local/International Talent - 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. North and South Stage
  • Rockwall and Escape Rooms - 1-8 p.m.
  • Saturday Headliner North Stage - Moetowne Alex and the Nightview Band - 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday Headliner South Stage - Edgar Cruz and Flamenco Fantastico - 7:30 p.m.

Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 28

  • Local/International Talent - Noon to 5 p.m. North and South Stage
  • Headliners will be announced soon.

Claire Trachte's artwork will be featured on the 46th annual International Festival poster and t-shirt.

Clair Trachte was the winner of the poster contest for the 46th annual International Festival! Trachte is a freshman at Eisenhower High School. She recently completed eighth grade at the Lawton Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Her design features a large buffalo over the Oklahoma flag. Below the buffalo are people in a parade waving flags from the Comanche Nation, Mexico, the United States and the Philippines.

Trachte's design will be on all promotional material, including posters and t-shirts, for the 46th annual International Festival.
