We've been hearing rumors online and elsewhere for months now about Party City closing several of its stores Nationwide, but hoping that wouldn't include Lawton. Sadly it looks like we didn't make the cut.


The company filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy back in January of this year (01-17-23). In an attempt to restructure their debt and save the company, they announced that they'd be closing around 22 stores in total.

Unfortunately, the Party City in Lawton, Fort Sill at 3801 N.W. 38th Street in Cache Road Square is listed as one of the stores closing. We stopped by this morning to confirm the sad news and get a final closing date.


We spoke with the store staff and they told us that Party City will close its doors permanently on Friday, April 28th, 2023 (04-28-23). In the meantime, they'll be offering all kinds of going-out-of-business deals and sales.

Right now you can get anywhere from 20% to 40% off everything in the store. So if you have a party or special occasion coming up it's time to get stocked up at Party City while there's still time and inventory.


The word is getting around town fast, so don't wait or you'll miss out on some amazing sales and there won't be anything left. It's already starting to get a little thin in some departments so shop ASAP or you'll lose out.

I hate that we'll be losing Party City, it's one of the few party supply places in Lawton, Fort Sill. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Party City was doing great but afterward, it struggled to recover like most businesses.


Another Lawton business just recently announced they would be closing their doors permanently, Bed Bath & Beyond. Thanks to the COVID pandemic and shutdowns they too were unable to bounce back financially.
