Lawton Public Library Will Offer Free Summer Activities For Kids, Teens, and Adults
School is officially out for summer in Lawton! And the Lawton Public Library is gearing up to offer a summer full of free educational activities for children and teens starting Saturday, May 30.
This summer, the Lawton Public Library will host its annual Summer Reading Challenge for all ages, plus various free events for children, teens and even adults. Summer at the Lawton Public Library will officially kickoff on Saturday, May 30, with a Fire Safety Scavenger Hunt, in partnership with the Lawton Fire Department.
The Fire Safety Scavenger Hunt will feature games, giveaways, fire safety activities and more.
The Lawton Public Library and the Lawton Fire Department will host the Fire Safety Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main library branch, located at 110 SW 4th Street in downtown Lawton. The event will feature interactive stations with firefighters, hands-on fire safety activities, fire truck experiences for kids, games, and giveaways.
The scavenger hunt will also kickoff the Lawton Public Library's Summer Reading Challenge and other free activities hosted by the library this summer for all ages.

The theme for the Lawton Public Library's Summer Reading Challenge is 'Unearth A Story.'
This year, the Lawton Public Library's theme for its Summer Reading Challenge is "Unearth A Story." The library's annual Summer Reading Challenge features reading challenges for all ages, plus free events and hands-on activities. The Summer Reading Challenge has challenges available from babies to adults, and readers can earn prizes all summer long.
This year's Summer Reading Challenge through the Lawton Public Library will kickoff on June 1. Readers can sign up online to participate in the challenge.

Summer activities hosted by the Lawton Public Library this summer include Yoga In The Park, Junior Ranger Field Trip, Story Time At The Park, and more.
In addition to its Summer Reading Challenge, the Lawton Public Library will host various free activities throughout the summer for kids, teens and adults. After the Fire Safety Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, May 30, summer at the Lawton Public Library will officially begin on June 1!
In its May newsletter, the Lawton Public Library outlined all of its first month of summer events. This June, the Lawton Public Library will offer free Yoga In The Park on Fridays at Shepler Park. On Tuesdays in June, children ages zero to 10 can enjoy a free Storytime At The Park in Elmer Thomas Park.
