Luke Combs' most embarrassing celebrity encounter involves Vince Gill, and was bad enough the "Even Though I'm Leaving" singer feared his career was over before it began.

Talking to Taste of Country Nights, Combs remembered nearly running through the Country Music Hall of Famer on a staircase at a Nashville bar called 3rd and Lindsley.

“I didn’t have a publishing deal, a record deal — I had just moved to Nashville a couple months before this, and it was just like super awkward,” Combs recalls of the moment.

Of course, he apologized profusely, and Gill was as humble as you'd expect, so in the end, no big deal. Right?

That's just one of several interesting stories the newly crowned CMA Male Vocalist of the Year shared with hosts Evan and Amber during a recent interview. Below are four more jewels from the interview, including how dedicated he is to wedding planning, how he convinced Eric Church to sing with him on his new What You See Is What You Get album and which songs are inspired by fiancee Nicole Hocking.

We even got him to open up about his shower habits, which admittedly sounds strange, but when you see how we got there, you'll appreciate his candor.

What You See Is What You Get debuted at No. 1 on the country and all-genre list of Billboard's top albums. The project also includes his No. 1 hit "Beer Never Broke My Heart."
