Mickey Gilley ‘True Love Ways’ KLAW Saturday Classic [VIDEO]

Today's Classic, 'True Love Ways' was a love song written by Buddy Holly for his wife as a wedding gift.  Holly recorded the song himself in 1958 along with the Ray Ellis Orchestra.  Mickey Gilley covered the song during the height of his success in 1980.  It was around the same time that Gilley opened his first club, Gilley's, knows at the World's Biggest Honky Tonk.  Gilley has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is an Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year and has captured the #1 spot on the charts 17 times in the span of his 15 year chart success.  Enjoy this medley of some of Gilley's top songs, including today's classic from 22 years ago today, 'True Love Ways'.
