We may just be getting in to 2026, but Oklahoma residents are already making plans for 2028. Soon, Oklahomans can register for the ticket draw for the 2028 LA Olympics for a chance to see two Olympic events in Oklahoma City.

LA28 will open registration for ticket draw on Wednesday, Jan. 14. After registering, LA28 will email those an assigned time slot to purchase tickets during one of the ticket drops. Tickets are expected to go on sale later in 2026.

Oklahoma City will host softball and canoe slalom for the LA28 Olympics.

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt announced that Oklahoma City would officially be the host city for two LA28 Olympic events: softball and canoe slalom.

And last year, the LA28 Olympics released its official schedule for the events, which revealed that Oklahoma City will kickoff the 2028 Olympics with the first events. The LA28 Olympics will take place in Oklahoma City during the month of July in 2028.

The softball Olympic events will be from July 23-29 at the OKC Softball Park, and canoe slalom will take place at the OKC Whitewater Center from July 14-22. All medal ceremonies for softball and canoe slalom will be in Oklahoma City.

How the LA28 ticketing process will work for Oklahoma events.

Getting tickets for the LA28 Olympic events in Oklahoma will work the same way as if you were getting tickets for the events in Los Angeles. LA28 has a four-step process for securing tickets to any of the Olympic events.

Registration - Starting Jan. 14, you can register and create a profile to be entered into the ticket draw.

Ticket Draw - The ticket draw will be a random assignment of time slots for people who registered to purchase tickets.

Time Slot - You will be able to purchase tickets during your assigned time slot.

Ticket Drop - A ticket drop is when tickets are released and available for purchase only for those with assigned time slots.
