
Snow Chances Increasing for Southwest Oklahoma Next Week
Oklahoma meteorologists have been sounding the alarms that winter isn't over yet for the state. Even though we had a taste of false spring with over 80 degree temperatures earlier this week, Oklahoma meteorologists said not to be fooled as more winter weather is possible the middle of February.
As we get closer to Valentine's Day, snow chances are increasing for southwest Oklahoma. Previous forecasts had kept the snow chances up north, but now as the middle of February gets closer, the probability for snow in southwest Oklahoma is getting bigger. There's even a chance for rain, ice or a wintry mix. It looks like winter definitely isn't over yet.
Two cold fronts will move through Oklahoma.
Meteorologist Austin Bowling with Texoma Weather Lab indicated in his Facebook Live Wednesday weekly forecast that rain and snow chances are increasing for southwest Oklahoma next week. Oklahoma will warm up Friday and Saturday before a cold front moves in Saturday. This cold front will bring down temperatures and then increase Oklahoma's chance for rain on Monday.
Another cold front is expected to come through on Tuesday and this is the cold front that could bring in the snow.
National Weather Service in Norman expects rain and snow for Oklahoma.
The National Weather Service in Normanx is also expecting snow for southwest Oklahoma. The National Weather Service in Norman is expecting rain and snow on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. It's still too far out to forecast Valentine's Day but you can bet that it will be cold!
