Young readers and Thunder fans will want to make sure they're in Lawton on Friday, July 25! The Rolling Thunder Book Bus will be making a stop at the Lawton Farmers Market to inspire young readers and to give away 120 free books!

The Lawton Public Library will be hosting a special pop-up event with the Rolling Thunder Book Bus starting at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25 at the Lawton Farmers Market, located at 77 SW 4th Street in downtown Lawton. The event is open to all children in grades kindergarten to 5th, who must be accompanied by an adult.

According to a press release, the Rolling Thunder Book Bus is Thunder-themed and holds more than 2,000 fiction and nonfiction books. Visitors can step inside to experience shelves of books and locker displays with player autographs, a jersey, game-worn shoes and more.

"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to host the Rolling Thunder Book Bus, especially following the championship victory," said Tanya Organ, Community Engagement Librarian. "Providing children with free books is a great way to encourage a love of reading and support their learning journey."

First 120 will receive a free book from the Rolling Thunder Book Bus.

Those who plan on visiting the Rolling Thunder Book Bus are encouraged to get to the Lawton Farmers Market early on Friday, July 25! The Rolling Thunder Book Bus will give the first 120 children the opportunity to select a free book from the Book Bus collection.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early before the scheduled start time of 1 p.m. If you're one of the first 120 to arrive, you will receive a ticket for the free book. The tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
