Local Farms Ready To Share Summer’s Sweetest Watermelons

Oklahoma's most delicious and sweetest season has begun - watermelon season! Several watermelon farms across Oklahoma have been tending diligently to their crops and now its team to enjoy those yummy watermelons! Fresh, Oklahoma watermelons are finally available to enjoy this summer.

Peak harvest for watermelons in Oklahoma typically takes place in July and August. Even though it's still early in July, multiple watermelons farm in Oklahoma have reported that their watermelons are ready to be taken home to be enjoyed. Most of Oklahoma's watermelon farms are located near Rush Springs, which is the Watermelon Capitol of the World!

Luckily, the famous Rush Springs watermelons can't only be found in Rush Springs. Several of the watermelon farms in Rush Springs travel across Oklahoma to sell their watermelons. Soon, Oklahomans will see Rush Springs watermelons being sold in parking lots or at local farmers markets!

Abbott Farms in Rush Springs recently posted that their watermelons are ready and they'll be set up near Lawton on Monday, July 7 at Ann's Country Kitchen.

Phipps Family Farm in Rush Springs said their watermelons are getting close! When their watermelons are ready, Phipps Family Farm can often be found at the Lawton Farms Market and the Wichita Falls Farmers Market.

Miller Farms has roadside market in Rush Springs and have been selling watermelons from Texas as they wait for their watermelon crop to be ready. Miller Farms recently tested their first watermelon of the season and said on social media that the harvest will be ready soon!
