There's not a lot left on this earth I really want to experience. Not that there aren't a lot of great experiences out there and that I have done it all, its just that there aren't a lot of things I feel a deep desire to put myself through. Maybe skydiving, maybe seeing the northern lights or Paris (France not Texas or California) at night, but to borrow a line from Thomas Rhett, I have already drove a sports car up the California coast.

One thing I would like to experience is the feel of a high performance car on a race track. My father used to race top fuel dragsters as well as motorcycles and rally cars, and I guess, while I didn't inherit the need for speed that he had, I always wondered what that shot of adrenaline he got from it felt like it.

I wondered until Saturday that is. Thanks to my friends at The Motorsports Lab, a group of traveling automobile teachers and trainers, I got the the answer. The lab travels the country, equipped with a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Porsche and a Ferrari F430, The Motorsports Lab gave me the opportunity to be Mario Andretti, Michael Schumacher or Dale Earnhardt Jr. Three laps at the training facility for the Oklahoma Dept. of Safety may not seam like much, until you put that throttle down.

And let me tell you, it took me about the 3 seconds it took to go from 0 to 60 to understand that rush. It was all I expected and more. I would like to thank my new friends at The Motorsports Lab for the opportunity to live out one of my bucket experiences. And let me tell you that if you ever get the chance to put that throttle to the floor in this circumstance, don't let that chance pass you by.
