Celebrating Jeri's birthday with a the first #1 from a country superstar's little sister for today's KLAW Classic!

Earlier this week, our KLAW Classic from Waylon & Willie, was actually written and performed first by Ed Bruce.

Thirty Six years ago, Crystal Gayle was in the midst of what would be 18 #1 records, and achieving international success.

We jump in the way-back machine and set it for November 29th, 1980 to get today's K-LAW Classic. It's from an award-winning singer who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - near her older sister's star.

Janie Fricke made a name for herself in Nashville as one of the most requested back-up singers for the likes of Crystal Gayle, Ronnie Milsap, and Eddie Rabbitt to name a few.

Today's KLAW Classic is from Crystal Gayle and come from 35 years ago today.  In a 2004 CMT Interview, Cystal Gayle said that songwriter Richard Leight wrote the song because he had a dog with one brown eye and one blue eye.

It was 36 years ago today, that Loretta Lynn's little sister, Crystal Gayle hit the top of the Country Charts.
