It's back! The Comanche County Sheriff's Office has issued a scam alert for Lawton, Fort Sill, and the surrounding area. Looks like scammers have returned and are duping people into giving them personal information or worse, cash.

The Lawton Police Department (LPD) has issued a warning to the citizens of Lawton, Fort Sill about a new phone scam that's making the rounds. Several people have fallen victim to the scam and/or have reported scamming attempts to the police. Don't fall for it, or it could cost you $100s maybe even $1,000s of dollars!

Coming up this Friday, April 23rd (04-23-21) the Arvest Bank at 4330 N.W. Cache Road is hosting a SHRED-A-THON. You'll be able to bring your unwanted paperwork, mail and any other items that contains financial and/or personal details to the bank and have it shredded.

Well it certainly didn't take long, no time at all in fact, for another scam to start making the rounds here in town. It seems like every time a scam is identified and finally stamped out, another one is quick to replace it. There's no shortage of people looking to steal your money and identity. You have to be on the look out and on guard for potential scams and scammers at all times these days. Otherwise you'll end up broke or have your credit and reputation destroyed. Well, we have yet another scam that's been reported in Lawton, Fort Sill.

BEWARE. There's a new, or a new spin on a recent scam making the rounds in Lawton, Fort Sill. Whatever you do DON'T FALL FOR IT. It's very similar to the scam we reported several months ago where you'd receive a random call from an unknown number. The person on the phone tells you, or leaves a message saying they're with the Lawton Police Department. They may even say they're an officer and that there's a warrant out for your arrest. They instruct you to pay a fine or be taken to jail. IT'S A SCAM!
