Beautiful Fall Colors Await You on the Talimena Scenic Byway in Eastern Oklahoma [VIDEO]

My husband David and I have been married 11 years. We celebrated our anniversary on November 1^st. He was home and I was on a cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico. I didn’t even talk to him that day. When I returned home he surprised me with a planned trip down the Talimena Scenic Byway.

I have wanted to take the drive down the Talimena Scenic Drive since I first moved to Oklahoma back in 1998. I had heard so many wonderful things about it. But, life happens and I have never taken the drive.

We headed out at 8:17 am on Saturday (I remember the exact time because my husband wanted to leave at 8 am and as we were backing down the drive he kept reminding me of the time!) We traveled to Ada and headed north on Highway 3 to Talihena. We were on a mission to get to Krebs, OK by noon so we could have lunch at Pete’s Place.
