The Lawton, Fort Sill ‘Armed Forces Day’ Parade is this Saturday!
The 2022 annual Lawton, Fort Sill Armed Forces Day parade returns this Saturday, May 21st (05-21-22) starting at 10:00-am in downtown Lawton. It's presented by the Lawton, Fort SIll Chamber of Commerce along with the Lawton, Fort Sill Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The parade in Lawton is a celebration of Armed Forces Day which is celebrated Nationwide on the third Saturday of May each year. Every state and city observes Armed Forces Day in their own way from picnics, festivals to parties and parades. Get all the details from the official parade poster below:
The Lawton Armed Forces Day parade is one of the longest-running and biggest Armed Forces parade in the country. Lawton has been doing it for well over 50 years and counting. The City of Lawton, the Lawton Chamber of Commerce with the Lawton, Fort Sill Convention & Visitors Bureau along with several local and area businesses as well as volunteers from all over team up every year to put this on.
The parade will start at 10:00-am in downtown Lawton on C Avenue at the Central Plaza and make its way to Elmer Thomas Park on Ferris Avenue. You can line the sides of the streets along the parade route.
Time is running out, but you may still be able to be a part of the parade itself but you'll need to stop by the Lawton Chamber of Commerce at 302 W. Gore to fill out an entry form.
