Lawton residents are used to the loud BOOMS that echo from Fort Sill. Those noises are typically made by modern machinery. But on Saturday, people can witness and hear the firing of a Civil War cannon this Saturday at the U.S. Army Field Artillery Museum on Fort Sill.

The museum will offer three opportunities to witness the live firing of a Civil War cannon on Saturday, December 13. The firings will take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon outside the U.S. Army Field Artillery Museum.
