There's no doubt the musical gained new fans this weekend, so for those who can't get enough of Oz, they'll want to book a stay at Oklahoma's own "The Wizard of Oz" inspired rental.
"Wicked" is a prequel to the 1939 classic film "The Wizard of Oz" starring Judy Garland. The musical first premiered on Broadway in 2003 and is loosely based on the 1995 novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" and the 1900 novel "The Wizard Of Oz." The musical tells the story of Elphaba and Galinda and their time before and after Dorothy arrives in Oz.
This weekend, part one of the movie adaptation of "Wicked" premiered and brought in $165 million globally. The second movie is set to be released on Nov. 21, 2025.
