2013 Luke Bryan Crashes The Top Of The Albums Chart
Luke Bryan’s album Crash My Party sold 528,000 copies in its first week, debuting at the top of the Top 200 and Top Country Albums Charts. It had the best first-week sales for a male country artist since Tim McGraw’s, Live Like You Were Dying in 2004.
The album features the singles "That's My Kind Of Night," "Play It Again," "Drink A Beer," the title track and Bryan's current single "Roller Coaster." Three of the singles, "Play It Again," "That's My Kind Of Night" and "Play It Again" climbed to #1, while "Crash My Party" reached #2 and the fourth single, "Roller Coaster" currently sits at #11 on the charts. Crash My Party was the 3rd best selling album of 2013, selling over 1,528,000 copies in less than five months of release, and went double platinum in April of this year.

Around 160,000 fans set a world record for Largest Group Karaoke Song with the Garth Brooks hit "Friends In Low Places" at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.

O.V. “Mooney” Lynn Jr, husband of Loretta Lynn died after a long illness. Over the course of their often-tumultuous nearly 50-year marriage, Doolittle was instrumental in developing Lynn's musical talent and country music career, purchasing her first guitar, getting her first radio appearances, and serving as her de facto talent manager for many years.
Oliver Lynn was portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones in the Oscar-winning 1980 film, Coal Miner's Daughter. His death was due to diabetes-related health problems and heart failure. He was buried on the Lynn family estate in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

The Mavericks grab their first gold album, for What A Crying Shame. The album features the singles "What a Crying Shame," "O What a Thrill," "There Goes My Heart," "I Should Have Been True" and "All That Heaven Will Allow."

George Jones and Tammy Wynette announced they were married even though they didn’t tie the knot until the following February.

Hank Snow was involved in an auto accident in Nashville. Snow suffered minor injuries when his car crashed into the rear of a van while Snow was on the way to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
Two other people also suffered minor injuries when the van stuck another car. No one was seriously injured.
