Thomas Rhett to Wife Lauren on 5th Anniversary: ‘We Have Loved Harder Than Ever’
Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren, have already had quite the journey in their marriage of five years. The couple celebrated a half-decade since their wedding day on Thursday (Oct. 12), and Rhett posted a heartfelt message for his wife in honor of the occasion.
Attached to the note is perhaps one of the cutest photos of all time featuring their now-family-of-four with their daughters, Willa Gray and Ada James, as the new parents beam at the camera. Underneath is a sweet message directly to Lauren, whom he’s known since the second grade.
“5 years of marriage with this beautiful woman. A lot has changed since our last anniversary. We have cried a little but have laughed and loved harder than we ever have. Love you baby! Here's to so many more,” Rhett writes, complete with "You + Me" and a heart-eyes emoji to cap it off.

He’s not wrong about the changes. Since year four, they’ve adopted a toddler from Uganda and had a biological daughter just a few months later. Rhett has released a new record — most of which speaks to these world-rocking shifts in his personal life — and the two have been on a mission to raise awareness and support for the organization 147 Million Orphans, through which they met their future daughter Willa Gray. That’s all in between tour dates and trips back and forth to Uganda.
Still the couple seems stronger than ever. Lauren wrote a similarly sweet sentiment on her own Instagram, echoing Rhett’s gratefulness for their relationship.
“If this is 5 years, can’t wait to see what forever looks like,” she says underneath a wedding photo.
Rhett’s most recent record, aptly titled Life Changes, released in early September, and its most recent single “Unforgettable” has climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. When he’s not adjusting to his role as a dad or taking a nap out of new parenthood exhaustion, he’s prepping for the reaction from country music purists about one of his tracks, “Leave Right Now,” which has a distinctly EDM-inspired chorus.
“Never in a million years did I think it was ever going to make the record, and the more I just started listening to it I was like, ‘Why would I not want a song of mine that makes me feel incredible to not be on the record?'” he says.
