Townsquare Pet Patrol
From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital, highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.
This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.
The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitty 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!

Molly is a very sweet female Shih Tzu. We don’t know a lot about her background other than her owner may have had too many dogs, and gave her up. Molly has been very nice with all the other dogs in her foster home as well as her human foster family too. She appears to be house trained and is quiet. She is eating well and will occasionally bark for food. Molly will even stand up on her back legs begging for a treat.
Molly is still young, maybe 2 years old. She is just a sweet and loving dog that is looking for a new home. She is current on all her vaccinations and has been spayed. She tested negative for heartworms and 4 tick borne diseases, and has also been microchipped.

At the Willbarger Humane Society, October is ADOPT A SHELTER PET MONTH! In order to celebrate we are reducing the price of adoptions to half. Cats will be $30 and dogs will be $45 for the month of October only.
Our Pet of the Week is Abby is our Pet of the Month again for October. She is getting sad that she does not have someone to play with and a yard to run in. She is a German Shepherd and Husky mix with one brown and one blue eye. Abby came in as a stray, is about a year old and is a very sweet girl. She has lots of personality and does well with other dogs but is unsure about cats. (She hasn't paid a lot of attention to Snow but she might chase a cat if given the chance.) She has lots of energy since she is still young and would need to have some training to not jump on people and kids when she is excited.
Does Abby sound like your kind of girl? Come and visit her and see if she is the dog of your heart. As pet of the month her adoption fee is sponsored to an approved home. You can reach us by phone at 940-552-5373 or by email at whs76384@gmail.com. To put an application on any of our animals please visit www.wilbargerhumanesocietyvernontx.org
