Townsquare Pet Patrol
From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital, highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.
This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.
The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitty 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!

We call this boy Bentley and he was abandoned as a stray in the Loco area. His rescuer wanted to keep him, but her health wasn't up to the activity level of an 8-9 month old puppy.
Bentley is a blank slate; but ever so ready to learn all the lessons necessary to become a great family companion! He gets along with the other dogs and is young enough to be taught that cats can be our friends as well.
Bentley would love to have a family of his own with children, to romp with and a big backyard to play in. Please call 580-252-7387 for more information. Bentley is neutered, UTD on vaccinations and tested negative for heart worms, and he has been treated for ticks, fleas & intestinal parasites.
- They call me short round. I may be small in stature, but I can promise you I can give loves and kisses as well as any other adoptable pet you've ever met. How'd you like to meet me?Stop down for Lawton Animal Welfare's Black Friday were ALL of us Adoptable PETS have been Sponsored, which means Zero money comes out of your pocket, and I bet you'll fall in love with me or one of the other animals in the shelter. We'll see ya down here at Lawton Animal Welfare, 2104 SW 6th Street, and let me ask you a few questions, and see if we can make a connection that will last a lifetime.
This sweetie is Ida Mae. She loves to give kisses, get tummy rubs and to go for long walks and car rides. Ida Mae loves all people, but she can still get a little too excited and jump to show how excited I am, so smaller children are probably not a good idea.
Ida Mae also love other dogs, but not cats. She absolutely adores her toys, but she is still a bit of a pup, so she is very hard on them. Her dream family will love to take her on long walks and car rides, have time to run and play with me and have lots and lots of super tough toys. She is house broken and loves when you come outside with her
Ida Mae comes with age appropriate vaccines, heart worm negative, and micro chipped. She is on monthly heart worm preventive as well as flea and tick preventive. If you are interested in this sweet girl, contact Rainbow Bridge Can Wait at 580-654-2513 or on out Face Book page.
This is Jacob, Catahula Mix male. This handsome guy is between 1 and 2 years old, neutered and up-to-date on all of his shots.
Jacob is so sweet, he's good with other dogs, and great with kids. Has one blue eye and one brown.
But most importantly, Jacob is a Friends Fur Change Boy. For more information, or to meet Jacob, please contact Bobbie for more info 405-245-6932.
We would love to introduce the perfect furr-babies for classic rock fans. Janis and Jimi were picked up as strays and are now up for adoption. Janis is a large female between 1 and 2 years old. Jimi is a pup between 6 and 8 months old. They are both very friendly and desperately seeking a forever home. If you can give one or both of these dogs a good home or if you want to come see all the dogs available for adoption, please call me at 580-682-9073.
For more information, or to meet these two sweet hearts, please call the Carnegie Animal Shelter at 580-682-9073 or the Town Hall at 580-654-1004.
This is Jasmin. She is around 2 years of age and forever in our shelter. She loves people, it depends on the other dog if they get along, and we're not sure about her with cats.
Jasmine is full of love and energy, and is looking for his new home to share that with. For more information or to meet this beautiful girl, please contact Friends of the Elgin Shelter at 580 919-5117.
This distinguished guy is Ivan, an older gentlemen, who is very calm and well mannered. He loves to go on slow walks, and is good with children, dogs and cats.
If you would like to meet and possibly be my fur-ever home, please contact the Humane Society of Wichita County at 940 855-4941; make sure you ask for Ivan!!
We found Sugar in an area shelter. She is one very sweet girl that is getting along with her new foster parents and canine buddies. We're not quite sure what breed she is, but our best guess is a possible combination of Japanese Chin, Pekingese, and maybe one of the Spaniels. She appears to be about 18 months old.
Sugar is so adorable. She is housebroken and will take naps in an open crate. She is current on all her vaccinations, including a rabies shot. Sugar tested negative for heartworms and is on a preventative, and has also been microchipped.
Sugar’s adoption fee is $140.00. For more information about adopting Sugar, e-mail email@example.com.
This week our featured pet of the week is - Gambit! Gambit is an orange and white domestic short hair. He has a big personality and a huge meow you just cannot ignore. Gambit was brought in as a stray and is now an adoptable resident at our shelter. This sweet boy enjoys adventures the day room and spending time around our other cats.
He loves to talk to anyone who comes in to visit and makes sure he is noticed the moment that you walk in the room. Gambit is one of those cats that took a sip from the fountain of youth. He looks like a sweet young boy, but he is actually around 8 yrs old. If you get the chance, come and say hello to this sweet boy.
