Tributes To David Bowie Pour In From Across The Globe…And Above! [VIDEO]
The passing of David Bowie from Liver cancer Sunday affected people across the world. Whether it was rockers, actors, country stars or talk show hosts, if you grew up in the 70's and 80's, your life was touched by the Thin White Duke.
But to me, the best tribute for the "Man Who Fell To Earth" came from outer space itself. Former Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield tweeted his tribute to Bowie. In March of 2013 Hadfield began serving as commander of the International Space Station, his time in space remembered for the viral nature of videos he produced, explaining what life was like for an astronaut in space.
Hadfield also made a video of himself performing the Bowie classic "Space Oddity", a version Bowie himself called "possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created." Bowie was so moved by the tribute, that when YouTube yanked the video over licensing issues, it was Bowie who worked with his publisher to extend the copyright agreement, allowing the video to stay online.
From Earth and above, here's to the late, great David Bowie.
