Did Tulsa Really Only Care About Gas and Gyros in 2022?
How many times throughout the year do you hop on Google and search "(something) near me?"
Odds are, if you're under 40, you do that quite often. If you're not under 40, you're technologically inclined. If you've never searched that way, it's time you learn a new trick.
If you simply search for any relative thing, like say "Mexican Food Tulsa," the results are going to lead you down a path of Mexican food restaurants listed in an order determined by marketing professionals... You don't need advertisements messing with your hunger.
When you search 'Mexican Food Near Me," the results are vastly different. Google will pinpoint your location and show you the highest-rated eateries in your general area, providing options that are close and convenient to you at that moment.
While Google usually posts up a "Year In Review" for the whole of the United States, they've broken it down to a hyper-local level, specifically the "near me" search trends for every metropolitan area of America.
As much as they talk about being completely different, the search trends in Tulsa are shockingly similar to those of OKC. Interesting, yes, but more common than you'd expect.
