During their first show since a gunman unleashed at a gay club in Orlando, Fla. over the weekend, the Dixie Chicks talked of the shooting that left 49 people dead.
The Dixie Chicks kicked off their first U.S. tour in 10 years Wednesday night (June 1) in Cincinnati. The country trio performed to over 20,000 fans at the Riverbend Music Center as part of their DCX MMXVI Tour, which has the band playing over 50 cities in North America.
The Dixie Chicks are back on the road together for the first time in years, and they used their platform to pay tribute to one of the greats last week with their cover of Prince’s "Nothing Compares 2 U."
Few country acts have had as much impact on a generation of females as the Dixie Chicks, so it's only fitting that the award-winning country trio were the subject of a group cover at a recent Song Suffragettes performance in Nashville.
"Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas."
