Yes, I know it sounds like the same song, but the 43rd verse! It feels like every time we get used to the City of Lawton's Utility Billing System, another change comes along.  It seems that way because it is! Reminds me of 'Groundhog Day' where Bill Murray wakes up and it's the same day, every. single. day.

City of Lawton officials warned us of these 'final' changes a few weeks ago, and this reminder brings with it a pretty map, so you can actually see what the billing cycle changes mean for your home.

Spoiler:  You don't want to be in purple.

Actually, the changes make sense.  They will line up with the bulk pick-up schedule with the City of Lawton, and that may, or may not make it easier for you to remember. And it will reduce the number of billing cycles from 20 to just 4 cycles, making it more efficient for the City as well. All I know is that last month, for the first time since all of the changes to the billing system began; I actually got my account to work correctly.

This has been the most exhausting change ever.  Just when you think you have it figured out.  Here comes another change.  This one 'should' be the last one.  My fingers are crossed for that.

In the purple section of the Lawton map, residents 'could' see two bills in one month as the billing cycles resync to the new dates.  This 'should' be the only time that that happens.  Of course, as we know from the beginning of this process, challenges are expected.  I'm certain that the City of Lawton will deal with these in a timely matter, as they have continued to do. I for one and ready for this to be the final change to this system.  Who's with me on this?
