It was only yesterday that you and I were talking about Oklahoma's biggest, best, and nationally ranked Tulsa Oktoberfest... but since there's no telling how much Brandon's gasoline will be by then, people are looking to get their celebrations on a little closer to home.

While the Fort Sill and Lawton festivals are fine, one can only expect greater things at an Oktoberfest put on by a brewery. An event you'll find right here in home sweet Southwest Oklahoma... the Kochendorfer Beer Olympics.

If Kochendorfer doesn't sound familiar to you, it should... especially if you enjoy a cold brew from time to time. Located in Duncan, it was one of three SWOK breweries to be added to the Oklahoma Craft Beer Trail tourism thing. Details about that here.

They are pulling out all of the stops for their Oktoberfest celebration this year, including everything you'd expect, plus an epic Beerfest-ish Beer Olympics as a cherry on top.

Since Lawton is THE military town in Oklahoma, one can only assume four of our best and brightest will easily bring those gold medals back home to Fort Sill... if they can overcome Das Boot.

While the dreaded Das Boot event is stealing all the attention, there are four other events that require a little dedication. A beer mile, keg toss, keg press, and competitive flip cup.

Epic.

Teams will consist of four people, but Kochendorfer will limit numbers to just fifteen total teams. It's $200 per team to enter, but given the fun and included beverages, it's right on point for an Oktoberfest to remember.

If you'd like to get in on the action but skip the competitiveness of the Beer Olympiad, there will be other games to take part in too, plus all the activities any other Oktoberfest has to offer.

Here are the full details of this event... If you plan on signing up, do so sooner rather than later. If it's up your alley, don't risk missing your opportunity to dominate. It might even be one heck of a spectator event too... depending on whether the teams put together some sweet early-2000s jumpsuits or not.

Also, on a side note, if you haven't seen Beerfest in a while, or ever, here's your sign to hit play on this masterpiece.
