With the recent release of "A Complete Unknown," new Bob Dylan fans have formed, and if they want to see Bob Dylan's complete archives, they'll want to visit the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although Bob Dylan doesn't have a direct connection to Oklahoma, the state was home to his biggest influence, Woody Guthrie.
"A Complete Unknown" hit theatres earlier this years and stars Timothee Chalamet as Bob Dylan and shows his rise as one of America's most influential folk singers. The film features iconic locations from Bob Dylan's life. Although the museum in Tulsa is not featured in the film, the Bob Dylan Center "houses and exhibits exclusive cultural treasures created and owned by Bob Dylan over seven decades."
Bob Dylan was inspired by Oklahoma's Woody Guthrie.
One of Bob Dylan's biggest influences was Oklahoma's own Woody Guthrie. Bob Dylan was "impressed" by the Woody Guthrie Museum in Tulsa, which opened in 2013, that he agreed to sell his archives to the family the operates the museum, the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Bob Dylan sold his archives in 2016 and the Bob Dylan Center opened in Tulsa in 2022.
