Today we take a look at the latest single from a second generation artist, who got her break in 2015 working with a legend of country music, along with one of the quintessential voices in country music early in the 21st century. An artist who loves to say that growing up she had dual citizenship...in Nashville and in Texas.

Aubrie Sellers comes from great country music stock. Her father is songwriter and guitarist Jason Sellers, who had two top-40 hits on the country charts with the title tracks from his two solo albums. Jason also spent time in Ricky Skaggs' backing band and as a session vocalist. After releasing two albums, Jason returned to session singing and songwriting, penning hits for Kenny Chesney, Montgomery Gentry and Lonestar.

Aubrie's mother is considered by many country music purists as one of the great voices of the late 90's and early 00's. From 1997 to 2008, Lee Ann Womack released 7 top-10 albums, 4 of them being certified gold or better. Her high water mark came in

2000 with the release of the album I Hope You Dance, which featured 4 top-20 hits, including the platinum certified title track. The album has sold more than 3 million copies to date, and has been appeared on many lists of the best country albums of the first decade of this century. All toll, Womack had 12 top-20 hits during that stretch, including her only #1 hit "I Hope You Dance".

Aubrie made her debut in 2014, working with David Nail on the track Brand New Day from Nail's album I'm a Fire. Then in 2015, Sellers teamed with her mother for the track "White Dove" from Dr. Ralph Stanley's album Ralph Stanley and Friends: A Man of Constant Sorrow. She credits Stanley, along with her mother, Ricky Skaggs, Bob Dylan, The Kinks and Led Zepplin as her musical influences. And you can hear the variety of her influences in her unique style of country blues rock.

Her debut album New City Blues was released in January of last year, and features a wide spectrum style that goes from rockin' country anthems, to passionate bluesy ballads and every thing in between. The third single from that album is in our spotlight today. Aubrie Sellers and "Liar Liar" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
