Today we feature an artist whose debut single went to #1, becoming just the second female artist to accomplish that feat since 2004. An artist who got her break thanks to one, if not THE top female artist in country music history.

Carly Pearce was born and raised not far from country music's capitol, Taylor in the small town of Mill, KY, leaving school at age 16, she moved to Pigeon Forge, TN, the home of Dolly Parton and her theme park, Dollywood. She was hired at the theme park, working 5 shifts a week, while still finding time to work on her music, which was featured on several bluegrass compilation albums.

In 2016 Pearce hooked up with the Josh Abbott band, performing as the featured vocalist on the band's single "Wasn't That Drunk". She toured with the song, performing it nightly and appeared with the group to make her national television debut on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. In February of this year, she would release her debut single, the lead single and title track from her debut album, Every Little Thing. The single has sold more than 330,000 copies, and would hit #1 earlier this year. It made Pearce only the second female solo artist since Gretchen Wilson in 2004 to hit #1 with her debut single; Kelsea Ballerini was the other.
