For the past few weeks on the Catch of the Day, I have been trying to introduce you to promising, new country artists, that have a sound that blend traditional and modern sounds in country music. Today I am presenting an promising up and coming artist who has his own twist on country and has just released his first single to country radio.

Steven Victor Tallarico, or has he has been better known for almost 50 years, Steven Tyler is well known to music fans as the lead singer and co-main song writer for the legendary rock band Aerosmith. With Aerosmith co-founder Joe Perry, the pair became commonly known as the "Toxic Twins" as much for their self-destructive habits as for the duos acidic relationship. Tyler's delve into country doesn't signal an end to the 45 year relationship with the Boston-based rock band, more of a stretching of his wings and bending of what many see as musical limitations.

Tyler points his love of country music to his childhood, citing influences such as the Carter family and the Everly Brothers. But, this isn't Tyler's first venture into country music, having recorded "Three Chord Country and American Rock 'n Roll" with Keith Anderson for the latter's 2004 album of the same title. Tyler also recorded a duet with Jana Kramer called "Bullett" which appears upcoming album and also with Carrie Underwood, a country flavored power-balled called "Can't Stop Loving You", from Aerosmith's Music From Another Dimension! album.

Several of Aerosmith's biggest hits contained a touch of country influence, including their smash "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing", which was a #1 hit for the band on the pop charts, and was taken to the top of the country charts by Mark Chesnutt with little or no altering of the original tune.

Tyler told Rolling Stone Magazine"I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire…. I have more country in me than people think." If you take away the rock star flashes and vocal gymastics, Tyler is just like any other up and coming country singer from the backwoods of New England, who's debut has been highly anticipated across multiple genres of music.

Many are hoping to see Steven Tyler fail, but I truly believe those people are going to be sadly disappointed. Your Catch of the Day today is Steven Tyler and the Eric Paslay penned "Love Is Your Name", new music you haven't heard, but I truly believe you'll want to hear it again!
