Back to School

The Oklahoma Supreme Court earlier today rejected a constitutional challenge to a proposed 1% sales tax increase to bridge the funding gap that currently exists for public education in Oklahoma.

Saturday morning, money was raised for to help with local student's school supplies in a colorful way.

Sometimes, a game is more than just a game.

Please indulge me this...I love my grand babies, and am so proud of them! You'd expect nothing less, Right?

You've heard all of the cliches of how the second place is the first loser, and how I don't have to be the fastest at running away from the axe murderer, I just have to be in front of you, but do you have real concrete evidence that being first doesn't suck?  Well, now you do!

We would like to take a moment to congratulate all of our winners and to compliment all of the great teachers who were nominated and those who were not. Each and every one of you go above and beyond to make a difference in children's lives and enrich them and our community with your dedication and devotion to teaching. Every year, I go into the big store and look at the display and, without fail, the list of school supplies for my son's grade is already gone.  You might tell me that I should start this little adventure earlier.  In response, I would tell you that my kid does NOT like shopping for school supplies.

Unveilings of two new health oriented projects are planned at the sixth annual Back to School Bash in Lawton. School aged youth can receive a backpack filled with back to school essentials, free lunch, and take part in other activities with families and community partners.
