Lawton Community Theatre Will Open Its 73rd Season with ‘Chicago’

I recently watched the "Hamilton" movie with my granddaughter at Lawton's AMC Patriot 13, and even though we both enjoyed it, we know there's nothing like live theater! She is my little theater grandbaby, and I love to take her to live, local theater, especially musicals. So we will definitely be checking out Lawton Community Theatre's 73rd season opener "Chicago" when it opens on September 12!

Lawton Community Theatre is one of the oldest continually running community theaters in the state of Oklahoma! I have been to several productions at Lawton Community Theatre, and I always enjoy the shows. This year, Lawton Community Theatre will kickoff its 73rd season with "Chicago," and will take place over two weekends starting September 12.

'Chicago' is a long-running Broadway musical.

"Chicago" is a classic musical that takes place in the 1920s Jazz Age of Chicago and tells the story of how two rival murderesses overhaul the local justice system for fame. "Chicago" is one of Broadway's long-running musicals that first premiered in 1975. Most audiences may recognize it from the Oscar-winning 2002 film adaptation.
