Cold Front Will Bring Heat Relief To Oklahoma This Weekend

These past few weeks have definitely felt like summer in Oklahoma! Temperatures have gotten up in the 90's, some days have been close to the 100's! So this cold front coming in Friday, May 19 will be much needed relief.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, various areas of Oklahoma will experience severe weather and possible flash flooding as this cold front moves through. Our friends in southeast Oklahoma are at the greatest risk of severe weather this evening.

As for flash flooding, most of central Oklahoma and east/southeast of the state are either at a marginal or slight risk. So always remember, turn around, don't drown!

This morning in Lawton, Oklahoma, we all woke up to rain, which is always a pleasant alarm clock! Scattered rain showers are expected across Oklahoma through 7 p.m. this evening. Areas will see anywhere from 40 to 100 percent chance of rain!

As this cold front makes it way through, we can go ahead and plan on a beautiful weekend in Oklahoma. High temperatures across the state Saturday will be in the mid to low 70's with evening lows being in the 40's to 50's. But, of course, these cool temperatures won't stay around for long as we're expected to jump back into the 80's next week, which, honestly, is not bad for May in Oklahoma!
