
Tornado Risks Rise Across Oklahoma This Thursday Through Sunday
A four day tornado outbreak is on tap for Oklahoma starting Thursday, April 23 and lasting through Sunday, April 26. Various areas of Oklahoma will be affected on different days.
As of Tuesday, April 21, exact details of each day's severe weather are uncertain, but severe weather is possible in Oklahoma starting on Thursday and continuing into the weekend.
Oklahoma's biggest chances for severe weather will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Although the four day tornado outbreak will kick off on Thursday, a majority of Oklahoma will be affected by severe weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. According to Extreme Meteorologist Reed Timmer, storms will develop along a dryline that will mostly affect the Midwest, however a portion of northern Oklahoma has a chance to see severe weather as well.
After Thursday, the severe weather threats will settle into the southern plains, mainly in Oklahoma, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The severe weather will move on to the Dixie Alley by Monday of next week.

North central Oklahoma has a slight risk for severe weather on Thursday.
As of Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Norman has the greatest risks for severe weather at a slight risk for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Thursday, portions of north central Oklahoma are at a slight risk, and on Friday, south central and eastern Oklahoma will have the greatest risk for severe weather.
By Saturday and Sunday, areas along and east of I-44 will have the greatest chance for severe weather. All modes of severe weather are expected all four days, including large hail, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes.
Oklahoma residents are encouraged to pay attention to the forecast as details will change as the days get closer.
