Elgin Volunteer Fire Dept to Host 14th Annual Crawds and Rods
Get out the butter and the bibs, its that time again when every one will be gathering in Elgin for the 14th annual Crawds N Rods crawfish boil, car show and poker run. The event is the annual fundraiser for the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department.
Kicking off around 8 a.m. as the first of the classic cars and trucks starts rolling in, and make sure you stick around for the finest crawfish in Texoma. There are carnival rides for the family, and everyone's favorite event, and a classic car burnout challenge, which will be leaving rubber on the roads starting around 2 p.m. There will be live music all day long, with three incredible local bands, Dollar 98, Garagemaholics and Southern Journey Band will keep your toes tapping all day long.
The Poker Run starts at 9 am, with last vehicle out at 10. The classic car and truck show will take place later in the afternoon, with showing of the cars and trucks starting at 10 a.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and their will be a $1500 prize awarded for the Best in Show. The big fundraiser of the day will the raffle for a custom built 1967 Chevy pick-up. Cost of a raffle ticket is $100 and the contest will be limited to just 1000 tickets. Tickets are selling fast, but will be available the day of the event.
All proceeds from Crawds 'n Rods go to support fire prevention education in local schools. So come on out and join us in Elgin on Saturday, May 13th for the 14th Crawds and Rods. It's so much fun it should be illegal!!
