Summer is slowly coming to a close, and although we still have over a month till the official first day of fall, Oklahoma residents are already wondering when the state's many pumpkin patches will be opening for the season. Some Oklahoma pumpkin patches have already announced their opening dates and they may be sooner than expected.

Oklahoma has had a wet and mild year, and it's looking like fall could be the same. The Farmers' Almanac is expecting Oklahoma to have a mild and dry fall at the beginning of the season but turning cooler and stormier towards the end. We're hoping not to jinx it, but Oklahoma may actually get real fall weather this year! And if we do, Oklahoma residents can finally wear their cute fall sweaters to the pumpkin patch instead of worrying about breaking a sweat.

But just when Oklahoma's pumpkin patches open will determine whether residents will still be wearing shorts and t-shirts to run through a corn maze, frolic through a patch of pumpkins or sip on apple cider.
