The spirit of Christmas is alive and well and living within the Lawton Firefighters Association. Recently, the LFA put together a program with area Walmart stores to bring holiday cheer to kids who will spending the Christmas season in the hospital.

Local firefighters received, decorated and delivered nine fir trees to the pediatric ward of Comanche County Memorial Hospital, bringing gifts along as part of the Firefighters Association's 'Christmas For Kids' program. Firefighters set the trees, donated by Walmart, up in the children's rooms, and the presents were left under the trees.

More information on the fire department’s Christmas charities, and how to support them, can be found on their “Christmas Tree Giveaway for Kids” page on Facebook.
