Fort Sill Has Cancelled The Free Gary Sinise Concert Friday Due To Inclement Weather
With high winds, scattered thunderstorms, and sudden temperature changes in the forecast, Fort Sill has decided to cancel the free Gary Sinise concert set for this Friday. The Lt. Dan Band was set to open a weekend of celebration for the Henry Post Army Airfield's 100 year anniversary.
While the concert has been cancelled, the free air-show is still scheduled to take place at the airfield on Saturday, starting at 10AM. It's also completely free, open to the public, and it will be really kid-friendly. Full information can be found here. Concert press release below.

Fort Sill Cancels Friday’s Gary Sinise Concert for Weather
Fort Sill – Fort Sill officials have made the decision to cancel Friday’s Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band concert at Polo Field.
Officials say the weather forecast for Friday calls for 40 mph sustained winds with potential thunderstorms and during the time artists are scheduled for sound checks, vendors will be setting up and early concert-goers will be arriving.
“We have to consider the safety of everyone involved from the artists to employees to the audience,” said Brenda Spencer-Ragland, Fort Sill Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation director. “We understand making a weather cancellation this far in advance may seem overly cautious, but there are a lot of moving parts that have to be notified. Safety is our number one concern.”
Spencer-Ragland said Sinise is anxious to come back to Fort Sill and she hopes to reschedule the concert. Those who have already purchased preferred seating can obtain a refund at the FMWR office in Building 4700.
