Topics for today's update included:

  • Prescribed Burns

Fort Sill has been and will continue conducting prescribed burns on post, with area fire departments assisting. This is a preventive measure to keep any post wildfires from jumping to other properties.

  • 1880's Baseball Game

Coming up this Saturday (July 14th) at 1pm at the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum. Museum staff and spectators will wear 1880's garb while the players will wear uniforms from that era. They'll follow 1880's baseball rules as well - no gloves, crowd taunting can change an umpires call, and players have to ring a bell after crossing home plate and tell the scorekeeper to "tally one run", or the run doesn't count.

  • LETRA Military Appreciation Family Fun Day and Car Show

This Saturday (July 14th) from 10am-4pm, with lunch served from noon-2. Free swimming, water craft activities, mini-golf, archery and more.. Call 442-3575 for more info.

  • Brad Paisley Free Concert

Coming August 15th to the historic Polo Field. Part of Brad's Virtual Reality tour. Open seating to all military ID card holders - active duty, DoD civilians, retirees and family members - plus civilian partners with access to Fort Sill. It's Brad's way of showing his appreciation for what the men and women of Fort Sill do.
