
Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings In Oklahoma’s Forecast
The first freeze for this year is set to arrive for parts of Oklahoma this week. After a warm start to October, Oklahomans will be happy to see much cooler weather in the forecast this week.
A cold front is expected to move through Oklahoma this evening. Areas of northern Oklahoma will see the season's first freeze this year due to sub-freezing temperatures tonight and into Wednesday morning. While areas of western, south western, central and eastern Oklahoma could see the first frost of the season.
Overnight lows for areas of northern Oklahoma will be in the low 30s, while the rest of Oklahoma will be in the 40s.
The cooler temperatures are expected to continue into the day Wednesday as daytime highs will be in the 60s. Wednesday is looking like it will be a great day for Oklahoma's favorite cold weather food.
The freeze warning for parts northern Oklahoma is expected to take effect from 1-9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. Whether you're in the freeze warning counties or where you could see a bit of frost, you will want to cover your outside plants or bring them inside! A hard freeze is not expected, but this light freeze could kill plants.
