If you are invited to a friend’s home for dinner, etiquette experts suggest you bring a gift as a way of rewarding the time and expense your hosts have put into the evening. However, due to time constraints, familiarity or a lack of awareness of that etiquette suggestion, a gift isn’t always bought.

In fact, in a recent survey of adults, 28 percent said they regularly don’t bring gifts when eating at their friend’s home. The same poll has also found that seven percent have had a friendship ruined because of poor dinner party behavior, which is something to think about before deciding to skimp on that bottle of wine.
