If you’re a guy who enjoys “pinning” all of your favorite things on Pinterest or you’re a girl who finds those Reddit threads ridiculously entertaining, then you’re actually part of the online minority.

Demographic information shows social media is largely populated by women, but there are exceptions. So which sites attract the fairer sex, and which are more testosterone-fueled?

More than half of Facebook and Twitter users are female, and they make up almost three-quarters of the membership on Pinterest. But on social bookmarking sites, those numbers are flipped: Reddit boasts a 74-percent male demographic, and men account for 66 percent of Digg’s userbase.

Socially-oriented music sites like Spotify and Soundcloud also have a male-heavy demographic, as does Google+.

And on YouTube, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Flickr and Instagram? Equality reigns, with roughly a 50/50 split between men and women.
