It's looking like Lawton, Fort Sill maybe facing another store closing, this time Tuesday Morning in the Cache Road Square. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the retailer hard and they've recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They'll be closing around 130 stores with an additional 100 stores closing at a later date. At this time we don't know what stores will be closing so we have no idea if the one in Lawton is in danger or not.

Tuesday Morning is a great store that offers all kinds of name brand and even designer merchandise at close-out prices. They have furniture, small appliances, crafts, bath and body products, kitchen items, home decor, toys, seasonal items and more. It's a one stop shop and the prices are fantastic. The first round of closings will focus on under performing locations, hopefully that won't include us.

Prior to the virus they were doing well. Unfortunately due to closing down and not doing any business for the past couple of months due to COVID-19 it's had a seriously negative impact on them. It's an all too familiar story and we keep hearing it over and over from locally owned to larger chain businesses here in town. Some will make it through this and sadly some won't. We need to do our part to help in anyway we can so we can save as many local businesses as possible.

There's no telling how many more businesses will close due to the pandemic and shutdowns. The last thing Lawton needs is more businesses shutting their doors and moving off. It not only affects our shopping options, think of those who will lose their jobs and the lost tax revenues for the city's budget. Let's hope it doesn't happen. Right now we have no idea what stores they'll be closing so there's still hope and you can help out by stopping by Cache Road Square and support them.
