Five Oklahoma Fall Festivals Worth A Road Trip This October
Saturday evening, a car dealership parking lot on Quanah Parker Trailway turns into what’s probably the biggest Halloween event in Lawton.
The 5th Annual SouthWest Auto Group Fall Festival is this Saturday, Oct. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at SouthWest Toyota out on Quanah Parker Trailway. You get the trunk-or-treat, games, a cake walk, costume contests, and prizes.
The costume contests are where it gets serious. They’re split by age, plus a family category. The family winner takes home $250, and the age group winners get $100.
It is soooo worth the drive to Lawton for the night... But, if you're just not that close to Lawton, there are more fall festivals around the Sooner State worth the drive.
Pumpkinville, OKC
The Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown is full of pumpkins right now. This year’s theme is piggybacking on the 100th Anniversary of Route 66, with giant pumpkin murals of the Mother Road’s best-known landmarks. Sure to be a kid pleaser.
It’s open Thursday through Monday, and Friday and Saturday run later until 8 p.m. Pumpkinville-only admission is $9 online and $10 at the gate, but for a few dollars more you can add a trip through the Crystal Bridge Conservatory and unlimited carousel rides.
Downtown Norman Fall Festival
This one is free and on Friday, October 23rd, so you don’t have to give up a college football Saturday. It runs 6 PM to 9 PM in Downtown Norman on Main Street, with trick-or-treating, rides, inflatables, costume contests, and a live DJ.
Zeeco Oktoberfest, Tulsa
You'll have to plan a real road trip for this one, but it’s the only festival on the list with a national ranking. USA Today named it the top Oktoberfest in the country in both 2024 and 2025, and this year’s festival is its 45th. There are more than 100 beers, eleven stages, bier barrel racing, and stein hoisting.
It runs October 22nd through the 25th. Just Google it, you'll find all of the details, times, dates, locations, etc. Pro-Tip: If you show up on Friday the 23rd between 11 AM and 4 PM, admission is free. Otherwise, single-day adult tickets start at $21. You can bring the kids too, there's a carnival for them to enjoy.
Coal Creek Balloon and Kite Festival, Tuttle
The third annual festival at Coal Creek Winery & Event Center brings over a dozen hot air balloons, a kite show, helicopter rides, tethered balloon rides, a 70-plus booth food truck and vendor market, and live music on Friday the 30th and Halloween Saturday. Last year’s was free to get in, with rides and activities priced separately.
October is stacked with stellar events, and since it looks like the weather is playing nice this year, you have no excuse to go experience something new and fun in the Sooner State.
