Niche just released their annual list for the best colleges in Texas. Some familiar names will be in top ten, but let's see who they have as the best in the state for this school year. Please note, if you're upset with your Alma mater's ranking, complain to Niche. I didn't make it.

Every year, Niche ranks the best Universities in America and if you want to stay in Texas. Here are the top ten best in the state.

Which Schools Moved Into the Top Ten in Texas?

If you look at last year's rankings, the top four is the exact same, in the same order. This year Texas Christian University moves into the top five, flip flopping with Southern Methodist. Texas Tech and University of Houston both remain in their same spots at seven and eight respectfully. Baylor was nine last year, falling to ten this year. Finally the University of Texas at Tyler makes their way into the top ten after being at 11 last year. Texas A&M International University loses their top ten ranking for 2026.

For anyone enrolling in colleges, one of the most stressful things is actually getting accepted. When it comes to acceptance rates in Texas, Rice University has the lowest only accepting 8% of their applicants every year. You will want to have a SAT score of 1,500 if you plan on applying to this college.

Most Expensive College in the Top Ten in Texas?

We all know college can be expensive and the private ones of course will be more expensive than the public ones. Sometimes more than double the annual tuition price. For this school year, Baylor University takes the top spot with $49,727 per year. Better get to work on one of those scholarships so you don't end up in debt.
