Season Hopper: Forget Fall, Some Lubbock Folks are Ready for Winter
With a cold front heading for Lubbock, many of us are starting to feel the fall vibe and can’t wait to bust out the fall décor, pumpkin spice flavored treats, and snuggle under a fuzzy blanket to watch movies or read a good book.
While I am a big fan of fall and can’t wait for all of the things I just listed, I am also a big fan of winter, specifically Christmas time.
The thing is, despite how much I love Christmas and the winter months, I want to let fall have its time to shine and enjoy the oranges, pumpkins, and spooky vibes while I can. For those that enjoy the winter months significantly more than fall, that might be a different story.
It seems like fall décor hits the shelves earlier and earlier each year, but I noticed something else creeping up right beside it. It looks like this year many stores have already started putting their Christmas décor for sale at the same time as the fall stock.
Sure, there is slightly less Christmas décor out compared to the Halloween and general fall décor, but it feels a little odd to go hunting for pumpkins and ghosts and be met with an aisle of ornaments and trees just one step over.
To each their own though! If you want to decorate for Christmas all year long, then the more power to you. I just personally won’t be getting ready for Christmas until at least November. We can save the debate of whether you have to wait for Thanksgiving to pass or not for another time.
