Cooler Temps and Widespread Storms On Tap for Oklahoma This Weekend

A cold front is getting ready to move through Oklahoma, and it will bring cooler temperatures and widespread storms! Oklahomans will have a much cooler weekend with a lot of rain.

When will the cold front move in?

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, the cold front will begin moving in Thursday, April 18. Wind gusts are expected Thursday as the cold front rolls in.

Thursday could also see some severe weather with this cold front. Areas in southeast Oklahoma will be the ones affected.

How much rain will Oklahoma get this weekend?

Friday night and into Saturday the storms will become more widespread. According to the National Weather Service in Norman, severe storms are not expected but rainfall amounts could reach one to two inches by Sunday. Areas south of I-40 will see must of the storms.

How cold will it get in Oklahoma after the cold front?

After the cold front blows through, overnight lows in Oklahoma will be anywhere from the high 30s to the low 40s. Daytime temperatures will hover around the high 50s and low 60s.

As we move into next week, temperatures will slowly start to rise back up into the 70s and could reach the 80s by middle of the week.
