Keith Whitley could be one of Country Music's most loved singers.  If not for his untimely death in May of 1989, Whitley would surely have reached Superstar status.

Today's KLAW Classic was the final release prior to his death.  It was the 5th single from his album 'Don't Close Your Eyes' and reached the number one spot on this day in 1989, just a month prior to Whitley's death.
